Magnify

Co-curated by Rebecca Duclos and Lauren Fensterstock in 2009, Magnify was installed at the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art. Works by Paul Butler, Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay, Jane Wildgoose, and Jonah Freeman drew upon ideas of exaltation, amplification, augmentation, and excess as the artists exaggerated or heightened the qualities of materials, events, and ideas. Digging deep into the smallest of details or making the grandest of gestures, the works in the exhibition framed culture and history through lenses that were alternatively absurd and sublime.
